The FA People's Cup regional finals took place at eight venues across England

Over 80 teams took another step towards glory in The FA People’s Cup over the weekend.

The regional finals took place at eight venues and in nine categories across England on both Saturday and Sunday with all those teams who had successfully negotiated the first round in January taking it to the next stage.

And with places in next month’s Finals in Sheffield up for grabs, as well as tickets to the Emirates FA Cup Final at Wembley for the winners, there was plenty of competition.

The regional finals began with over 400 teams dreaming of a People’s Cup title, but it’s now down to just over 80 from a record of over 4300 who entered initially.

Some of the key moments from the weekend included a stunning strike from a Pompey Amputees player as well as the thrills and spills of penalty shoot-outs.

There was also an appearance from the Emirates FA Cup itself, with the famous trophy appearing in Birmingham and Luton over the weekend.

The People’s Cup was given full coverage by BBC Get Inspired and you will be able to watch a special highlights programme featuring the best of the action and stories on the red button on Saturday 5 March at 1pm, straight after Football Focus.
