Newcastle United man Shelvey will serve a five-game suspension

The Football Association has issued the following statement:

The Independent Regulatory Commission has released the written reasons for the decision to suspend Jonjo Shelvey for a period of five competitive matches, fine him £100,000 and order that he attend an FA education course. Click here for the original commission statement.

The FA and Newcastle United have been served the written reasons and both parties have confirmed they will not be appealing, therefore, the player’s sanction commences with immediate effect.
