Manchester United may have a new manager and a host of new players but Jose Mourinho believes his side are already in good shape.

Zlatan Ibrahimovic, Henrikh Mkhitarayan and Eric Bailly are in line to start The FA Community Shield on Sunday when the Emirates FA Cup holders take on Premier League champions Leicester City – and the Portuguese says United can hit the ground running.

"There is a big contrast between [Sunday's] teams in terms of preparation because Leicester City are a team which has had many months together with the same players under the same manager," Mourinho wrote in the official FA Community Shield matchday programme.

"Only N’Golo Kante has left and the rest of the players have done lots of work in a settled environment ahead of the new season.

"Manchester United is a new team with a new manager and new players.

Jose Mourinho talks to FATV

"We have only been able to do a couple of weeks of work together.

"But of course, we will give everything to try to beat Leicester and, even though some of my players have only just had their first week of training, the way my players have all been working makes me think they can."
