Gamers are invited to compete at Wembley Stadium

Video game fans from across the globe are invited to compete for glory at Wembley Stadium connected by EE in the inaugural Emirates FA Cup gaming tournament.

Early rounds will take place in iconic locations inside the stadium such as the Royal Box, the changing rooms and the players’ tunnel, with the two finalists set to play the virtual showpiece on Wembley Stadium’s 82-foot screens as they sit in the centre circle.

Gamers of varying ability will descend upon Wembley Stadium as the home of football transforms into an epic gaming colosseum.

The eventual winner’s adventure will replicate that of this year’s Emirates FA Cup Finalists, as they look to navigate the early potential banana skins through to the tougher tests of the latter stages.

The victor will receive a VIP experience at The Emirates FA Cup Final in May, as well as the prestige of being the inaugural champion.

Players can enter via EveryGamersAdventure.com, where they will be entered into a ballot and subsequently selected at random to be one of the 64 names in the third round draw.

Applications are now open and will close on 18 March with those selected in the ballot notified by 25 March.

Emirates FA Cup marketing manager Lucy Roberts-Hartley said: “We are expecting amateurs to face elite gamers, just as The Emirates FA Cup throws up many David v Goliath fixtures.

“We hope the lure of playing everywhere from the Royal Box to the Wembley pitch will entice the very best gamers from across the globe.

“Many adventures have culminated at Wembley Stadium, but this gaming tournament will bring the spirit of The Emirates FA Cup to a new audience, while retaining its magic and unique history.”
