An Appeal Board has rejected an appeal by both Gillingham FC and club chairman Paul Scally against an Independent Regulatory Commission’s findings in relation to the race victimisation case concerning former Gillingham player Mark McCammon.

The club and Mr Scally were each fined £75,000 after the charge was found proven following an Independent Regulatory Commission hearing in July 2015.

That finding and subsequent sanction were challenged by the two parties and the matter was heard by an Appeal Board on 15 September 2015.

The original decision of the Independent Regulatory Commission was upheld in addition to the fine for Mr Scally. The Appeal Board did reduce the fine for Gillingham to £50,000.
