England Under-21s midfielder Jake Forster-Caskey has joined MK Dons on loan from Championship rivals Brighton & Hove Albion.

The 21-year-old has signed an initial short-term deal with Karl Robinson’s side, and he will stay at stadiummk until late October.

And the Dons boss is delighted to have Forster-Caskey on board, given his impressive experience for club and country.

"Jake will bring tremendous footballing ability to the group – he’s a very talented individual,” Robinson told MK Dons PlayerHD.

"To have played for England at all youth levels and plenty of times in the Championship, it shows what a quality player he is.

"I saw him when he came on for Dele [Alli] in the U21s recently and he’s someone I’ve got tremendous respect for.

"Keith Andrews [Dons coach] and Matt Upson [Dons player] played with him at Brighton so we weren’t going in blind, plus he’s got Championship experience and came within our wage structure."

Forster-Caskey has been a regular in Gareth Southgate’s squad over the past 16-months, as the U21s reached the Euro Finals in Czech Republic.

He was involved again as the Three Lions made a winning start to the new campaign with victories over USA and Norway earlier in September.

The U21s will be back in action on Tuesday 13 October when they play Kazakhstan at the Ricoh Arena in Coventry.

Tickets for the game are on sale now, priced at £10 for adults and £5 for concessions, via ricoharena.com or by calling 024 7678 6411.
