Steve Cooper names Young Lions ahead of Euro clashes

Steve Cooper has named his Young Lions squad for the upcoming UEFA European Under-17s Championship qualifiers.

England will travel to Portugal next week to continue their preparations ahead of their opening First Round qualification match against San Marino on Tuesday 29 September.

They then face Armenia two days later before concluding their group with a clash against the host nation on Sunday 4 October.

The top two in each group will progress to the Elite Round qualifiers in March, where the final spots for next summer’s showpiece in Azerbaijan will be determined.

Cooper's Young Lions began their campaign in August as they finished runners-up at The FA International Tournament. 

They tasted victory twice, defeating Italy 3-0 at AFC Telford and Turkey 2-1 at Walsall, before suffering a 7-3 defeat against the Portuguese at Burton Albion.
