Phil Parkinson celebrates his team's success against Sunderland

Bradford City boss Phil Parkinson has called on his players to come away from the Madejski Stadium with no regrets when they face Reading in their FA Cup quarter final replay.

The Bantams travel to Berkshire for the game on Monday night, after the pair drew their first encounter 0-0 nine days ago – and know that a date at Wembley is just 90 minutes away.

However, Parkinson says that despite the inevitable pressure his players will feel, they remain underdogs and will therefore take to the field with a nothing-to-lose mentality.

"We won't go there in fear," he said.

"We know the pressure will be on Reading after getting the draw at our place and we can go there and be relaxed in our play without that taking anything away from the intensity of our play.

"There is no pressure on us. It is just great to be in a game of this size."

"We really have to go there and enjoy it.

"When you are growing up as a kid and hoping to be in professional football, you dream of being involved in games like this.

"When it comes around then, you have to make sure you make the most of it."

Despite Parkinson's insistence that Bradford are second favourites the records may indicate otherwise.

City have already dispatched four teams from higher divisions in this year's competition, including Premier League leaders Chelsea.

And since he took over in August 2011, he has knocked out 13 teams from higher divisions across the two domestic cups.

However, the boss insists their high calibre hit list will mean nothing when they take to the field at the Madejski Stadium.

"I think some people almost got a bit confused in the first game, by classing ourselves as favourites," added Parkinson, who spent 11 years as a player with Reading.

"Reading probably have a budget ten times as big as ours and facing them at this stage of The FA Cup is another great challenge for us.

"We sit down with the players before these big matches against the better teams and we discuss with them what we need to show out on the pitch.

"The challenges we've had so far this season – Leeds, Millwall, Sunderland and Chelsea - we've rose to them, and we will need to do that again on Monday night."

Parkinson will make a late decision on the fitness of Andrew Davies after the defender injured his arm in the 1-1 draw against Coventry on last week.

Cup 'keeper Ben Williams will continue between the sticks in place of Newcastle loanee Jak Alnwick, who is ineligible.

Meanwhile, James Hanson, Billy Knott, Filipe Morais and Billy Clarke – who were all rested for Bradford's 1-1 draw against Notts County on Saturday – are all expected to return.
