Lionesses return to back We Can Play campaign

England's FIFA Women's World Cup heroes returned from Canada on Monday morning and showed their backing for The FA's We Can Play campaign.

The Lionesses landed at Heathrow less than 48 hours after they secured a first-ever victory over Germany to seal a third place finish at the showpiece in North America.

Before going their separate ways, head coach Mark Sampson and his squad came together for one last time to show their support for a campaign that is close to their hearts in the hope that they have inspired a new generation of women footballers to take up the beautiful game.

"It's been really special and this team are incredible, just incredible," said Sampson.

"I really hope we see a real surge now in the women's game in every area."
