Cardiff City are looking forward to playing at Turf Moor on Tuesday
Cardiff City youth coaches Matthew Bloxham and Jarred Harvey are hoping that playing at a Premier League venue can bring out the best from their team.

The Bluebirds make the long trip from South Wales to Lancashire for Tuesday’s FA Youth Cup clash with Burnley.

City’s coaching duo have prepared their squad for the test at Turf Moor in the build-up to the match, with a third successive away game at Nottingham Forest the reward should they win.

"We’ve done our research on Burnley, and are expecting a tough challenge against a well-coached side," said Bloxham.

"We’ve analysed and discussed how we believe they will attempt to hurt us and looked at ways to counteract this.

"It’s a great experience for our players to get the opportunity of playing at a great venue like Turf Moor.

"We’re expecting a top quality-playing surface, which will allow us to play our usual passing game, while their families and friends watch on.

"I’m sure our players will go out on Tuesday evening and give a good account of the Cardiff City Academy philosophy.”

Cardiff picked up an impressive victory against Charlton Athletic at the Valley in the Third Round, with a stunning strike from Jamie Veale proving enough to be their winner.

And Harvey has warned that some of the squad’s talented players have been showing their form in training.

"Preparation leading up to the game has been first class," he revealed.

"The whole squad have been exceptional during the build up to Tuesday, with a lot of key performers showing great form in training and we are confident they can take that into tomorrow night and show what they can do at a Premier League venue.

"When you have creative players like we have in our team, there is no better occasion for a young team to showcase its talent than on a Premier League ground in The FA Youth Cup."
