Ben Gibson says it would be an amazing moment to represent his country at the stadium he dreamed of playing in as a child.

The Middlesbrough defender, who is preparing to face Bolton Wanderers on Tuesday in the Championship, spoke to TheFA.com at the Together For England Roadshow in his home town on Teesside.

And having already achieved his childhood dream of pulling on the red and white for Boro at the Riverside Stadium, the 22-year-old now has an opportunity to possibly represent his country at the very same arena when England Under-21s face Germany there on Monday 30 March.

"If selected, it will be a brilliant opportunity and a great honour to not just represent my country, but to do it in the stadium that I dreamt of playing in as a kid," said Gibson.

"It would be a very proud moment for me, my family and all my friends."

Gibson played a key role as Gareth Southgate’s side qualified for the European Championship Finals this summer, and as the Young Lions continue to prepare for the tournament, the defender is looking forward to another stern test next month.

"It couldn’t be a bigger game," he added.

"Obviously people in the local area have responded to that and have come out in great numbers already, and I have no doubt that even more tickets will be sold.

"Any game for England against Germany is a massive occasion, and this will be exactly the same."

Gibson was joined at Holmwood School in the Easterside area of the town by England Women’s international Demi Stokes at the Middlesbrough Sportability Club’s half-term camp last Thursday.

The Together for England Roadshow is a nationwide drive aimed at inspiring current and future Three Lions fans by strengthening the national side’s relationship with local communities.

If you want to show your support for Southgate’s side then tickets for England U21s’ clash with Germany in March can be purchased from the ticket office at the Riverside or by calling 0844 499 1234. Tickets are also available online.
