Paul Fairclough’s England C squad put the disappointment of Tuesday's 2-1 defeat to Cyprus Under-21s behind them with a visit to the Pascal International School in Larnaca.

The group took part in a Q&A session with the entire school in the Assembly Hall, which allowed Fairclough and a number of players to answer questions on their careers and how they became involved in the game.

This was followed by a small-sided mini tournament between four teams representing the school and another school from Nicosia.

"The children will remember today for a long time," said school principal Despina Lioxliou.

"The players have provided inspiration to the children, especially when hearing that some players had received knock-backs in their careers but were playing at a high level and representing their country.

"The visit by the England team had made a huge difference to the children."

Chairman of the Representative Matches Committee Andy Shaw, was hugely impressed by the attitude of the players and the way they had taken on the management of each of the teams.

"Where time permits, we try to arrange a coaching session for local children wherever we are," said Shaw.

"We see this ambassadorial role as an integral part of our visit."
