Anthony Georgiou wheels off in celebration against United
An Anthony Georgiou brace and a strike from Ismail Azzaoui were enough to seal Tottenham Hotspur a 3-1 victory over Manchester United in The FA Youth Cup on Monday.

It took just fifteen minutes for the north London side to take the lead at White Hart Lane after United failed to clear a corner, and when the ball was swung back in, Georgiou volleyed home from close range to break the deadlock.

The lead did not last long, however, as England U18s international Marcus Rashford drew the sides level with a fabulous curling free-kick over the wall and into the bottom corner.

It was another U18 international that proved pivotal in the game’s next goal which arrived deep into the second half. Josh Onomah collected the ball inside his own half before embarking on a 50 yard run, playing a one-two with Georgiou and then passing it to Azzaoui, who finished for his fifth goal of this season’s competition.

And with 71 minutes on the clock, the third and final goal arrived as another member of Neil Dewsnip’s Young Lions, Kyle Walker-Peters, released Georgiou who produced a cool strike to secure an away trip to Nottingham Forest in the Sixth Round.

Marcus Edwards and Kazaiah Sterling appeared as late subs for Spurs, and Callum Gribbin played the full game for the visitors, with the trio flying to Portugal on Tuesday morning to join up with the England U17s squad for the Algarve Tournament.
