Sawbridgeworth Town kick off against Hoddesdon Town

It is just 76 days since Arsenal lifted the Emirates FA Cup at Wembley Stadium with an emphatic 4-0 win over Aston Villa.

But the competition returned to action on Friday night with four extra-preliminary round ties kicking off the 2015-16 campaign including a Hertfordshire derby between Hoddesdon Town and Sawbridgeworth Town.

The Emirates FA Cup

Extra-preliminary round
Coleshill Tn 11-0 Ellesmere Rangers
Hoddesdon Tn 4-0 Sawbridgeworth Tn
Lingfield 3-0 Canterbury City
1874 Northwich 3-0 West Didsbury & Chorlton
Winning sides receive £1,500

Hoddesdon were red-hot on the evening with Mark Summers netting a hat-trick in a comfortable 4-0 win.

The frontman netted twice in the first half before capitalising on a mix up in the visitors defence to complete his hat-trick on 65 minutes from close range.

Tommy Wade burst through the Sawbridgeworth defence on the full-time whistle to send the Lilywhites through to the Preliminary Round.

Luke Barlone and his Coleshill Town side kicked this season’s Emirates FA Cup off in style, as they blew Ellesmere Rangers away in the first half to win 11-0.

The 27-year-old striker, who only signed for the Colemen in the summer, struck four times in 31 minutes as his side outclassed their lower-league opposition and strolled into a 7-0 lead.

Luke Edwards opened the scoring after just four minutes, while Tom Weale and Demitrius Smikle also struck before the interval.

Service was resumed straight after half-time when Simeon Cobourne added an eighth on 53 minutes, and after both he and Smikle added their second goals of the evening there was still time for Dean Rathbone to round off the spectacular victory.

Coleshill will expect to better their phenomenal 155 goals in all competitions last season with more performances like this one.

Elsewhere, 1874 Northwich notched up their third win in six days with a 3-0 home triumph over West Didsbury & Chorlton, Neil Chappell grabbing a first-half double.

And Canterbury City were also 3-0 victors at Lingfield, with Jordan Casey’s thumping long-range effort the pick of the goals for a side looking to add to their two appearance in the first round proper.
