The FA Youth Cup

'We've done it before, we can do it again' says Ben Chilwell

Ben Chilwell says he knows his side have a mountain to climb if they are to reach the FA Youth Cup final, but it is one they are not afraid to take on.

Leicester City trail Manchester City 3-0 from the first leg after a goal from Denzeil Boadu and an Aaron Nemane brace gave Jason Wilcox's side the advantage.

But following the Foxes' recent comeback from 3-0 down against Brighton to win 4-3 in the Under-18 Premier League, Chilwell insists nothing is impossible.

"That was a massive mental boost," he told the Leicester Mercury. "It proves we have got it in us.

"Although we conceded three goals, it shows we can score four ourselves.

"It's a great positive and it will give everyone a big boost.

"We have won all three matches we have played there this season. We will take that into the game."

Trevor Peake's side have beaten Wigan, Chesterfield, Southampton and Birmingham en route to the semi-final.

If they upset the odds, they will reach their first FA Youth Cup final in the competition's 62-year history.

But the England Under-19s defender is only thinking about the task in hand.

"We are expecting another tough game, just like we had at their place," added Chilwell.

"They are great opposition, but we have been preparing well and are all looking forward to it.

"Everyone is excited. We lost 3-0 away but it has made it even more of an exciting tie at home. It's going to be a great test."

“We have been preparing well and are all looking forward to it.”

Meanwhile, Manchester City's young Spanish star Angelino says he and his team-mates are just focused on qualifying for the final. By any means necessary.

“Last year we lost against Fulham and we have lost some important games this year," he told MCFC.com.

"I am really looking forward to playing this semi-final and hopefully going all the way in this competition.

“Obviously we want to win playing our football, playing well and doing the things that we work on in training, but even if we win playing badly I still want to win."

The winners of the semi-final will meet Chelsea, with the tie being contested over two legs.
