Danielle Turner's double earned a point for Everton

Danielle Turner’s second-half double rescued a point for Everton as they came from two goals down against London Bees at the Select Security Stadium.

The Bees were beaten 7-0 by Reading in their previous outing, but they outplayed Andy Spence’s side in the first half before Everton rallied.

The Toffees were forced to wear their away kit after the visitors only brought blue shirts and white shorts up to Widnes.

And fittingly, Everton played like they were the away side early on – almost letting the Bees take a rapid lead when Leigh Nicol curled an effort against the post.

They failed to heed that warning shot and Louise Fellows went one better on 26 minutes, converting Katherine Huggins’s cross.

Nicol then doubled the lead in unusual circumstances on 39 minutes – she was as surprised as anyone when her in-swinging corner flew over Everton keeper Megan Walsh and in at the far post.

Everton finally came alive in the second half and were level within 12 minutes, Turner scoring two almost identical goals by cutting in from the left and calmly slotting past Sophie Harris.

Harris ensured the Bees would leave with a point however, tipping Lindsay Johnson’s header onto the bar before denying another Lucy Whipp attempt.
