Frank Lampard scored twice as Manchester City beat Sheffield Wednesday 7-0 in the Capital One Cup.

The former England international scored the first and last of City's seven, as the Premier League champions made light work of their Championship opposition.

Jesus Navas, Yaya Toure, Jose Angel Pozo and an Edin Dzeko brace completed the rout at the Etihad.

Elsewhere in the Third Round England Under-21 duo Tom Ince and Saido Berahino were on target at the Hawthorns as West Brom scored two late goals to beat Hull City 3-2.

Another Under-21 international - Harry Kane - scored as Tottenham Hotspur came from behind to beat Nottingham Forest.

Also on target at White Hart Lane was former England youth international Ryan Mason - who cancelled out Jorge Grant's opener for Stuart Pearce's side.

At Stamford Bridge, England defender Gary Cahill lined up against his old side as Chelsea saw off Bolton Wanderers thanks to goals from Kurt Zouma and Oscar, either side of a Matt Mills equaliser.

League Two's Burton Albion lost 3-0 at home to Sami Hyypia's Brighton & Hove Albion, while ten-man Newcastle United needed extra time to beat Crystal Palace 3-2 at Selhurst Park.
