Watford's Renee Hector targets return to winning ways
Renee Hector believes Watford are ready to turn a corner in their season when London Bees visit Berkhamsted on Sunday.

The Golden Girls’ squad has been decimated by injuries of late as they have endured a run of six straight defeats.

Hector has been one of those absentees, missing the most recent defeat at The FA Women’s Super League 2 leaders Sunderland as she recovered from an ankle injury.

But the versatile Hector, who can operate as a defender or striker, expects to be fit to return this weekend as Watford look to inflict a third defeat of the season over the Bees.

“We know we can pick up points against London Bees having beaten them twice this season. It’s just a case of sticking together, that includes players, staff and everyone right through the football club,” said Hector.

“In a couple of our recent games we’ve been quite unlucky not to get anything. Against Millwall we lost in the last minute. I don’t like making excuses, but we have had quite a lot of our starting 11 out.”

Hector continued: “I missed the Sunderland game with injured ankle ligaments and we had six or seven players not available. Lots of us are struggling with injuries at the moment.

“It’s frustrating because the atmosphere in training is very good. All the girls are up for it.

“Our next two games are against teams below us in the table and games we feel we should pick up points from and at least finish in a decent place in the table.”
