The England team was greeted by bright blue skies and sunshine when they landed in Switzerland on Sunday ahead of their Euro 2016 qualifying opener.

After manager Roy Hodgson and captain Wayne Rooney had completed their media obligations, the squad headed to St Jakob Park, where they will face the Swiss on Monday night.

The home team had earlier trained at the impressive 38,000-seater stadium, where England won 3-1 on their last visit four years ago.

The Three Lions have only lost once in five games in Basel against the Swiss - Ron Greenwood's team went down 2-1 at St Jakob Park in a qualifier for the 1982 World Cup.

As the sun dipped to leave the pitch in almost total shadow, Hodgson put all 19 members of his side through their paces as they look forward to getting started on the road to France 2016.
