And it will be England’s second game in five days of that international week, after facing fellow Euro Finalists Portugal at Burnley’s Turf Moor on Thursday 13 November.

The Three Lions secured their place at next summer's Euro Finals earlier in October, after a 4-2 aggregate win against Croatia.

Goals from Harry Kane and Saido Berahino in the first leg at Molineux gave Southgate's side a deserved 2-1 lead ahead of the second leg, where away goals from Liam Moore and Will Hughes complemented another strong team performance in Vinkovci.

France Under-21s also reached the Euro play-offs, but missed out on a trip to Czech Republic for the Finals next June after losing to Sweden.

It did look as though Pierre Mankowski’s side were heading through when they took a 2-0 lead from the first leg in Le Mans over to Sweden.

But they were caught cold in Halmstad, where Sweden turned the deficit around by sweeping into a 3-0 lead to shock France.

A late goal from Layvin Kurzawa looked to be enough to have sealed progress for Mankowski’s team via away goals, but when Sweden bounced straight back with another late goal, the writing was on the wall.

Head coach Mankowski will remain in charge of the Under-21s for this fixture, which is being played at Stade Francis-Le-Ble, home of second tier club Stade Brestois.

The match will also be televised on BT Sport.
