Sturridge vows to be back stronger than ever
England international Daniel Sturridge says he is determined to return stronger than ever from his injury woe.

The Liverpool striker, who represented the Three Lions at the World Cup in June, has been ruled out with a thigh injury since September but had looked set to return to action recently until he was diagnosed with a new problem, side-lining him until the new year.

Having watched his Liverpool team-mates suffer a 3-1 defeat at Crystal Palace on Sunday, Sturridge tweeted on Monday: "Through all this I'm growing as a man and an athlete.

"Everybody goes through things in their life that can make or break them. This, for me, is just another hurdle to jump over. Another door to break down.

"I'll be back soon enough strong and ready to play. Thanks to everyone for your support."

Sturridge starred alongside Luis Suarez in the Reds attack last season, scoring 25 goals as Brendan Rodgers' men came close to winning the Premier League title.

But his setbacks this season have been mirrored by his club who have taken just eight points from their last nine games and currently languish in 12th place in the table.
