Steve Cooper has picked an 18-man squad for the Northern Ireland game
England U16s face their second Victory Shield game in the space of a week on Friday evening when they play Northern Ireland in Dungannon.

The Young Lions kicked-off this year’s competition with a narrow 1-0 defeat against Wales in Bangor last week.

But Steve Cooper’s side now have a chance to register their first win of the season just seven days later at Stangmore Park in the second of three Shield games.

An 18-man squad has been named by the head coach for the game and the group will meet up at St. George’s Park on Monday afternoon to begin their preparations.

Nine players from the group who were involved against Wales are selected again, but Cooper will work with a further nine players for the first time.

After the trip to Dungannon, England will bring this year’s Shield to a close when they face ‘Auld Enemy’ Scotland at Yeovil Town’s Huish Park on Thursday 20 November.

Tickets for that game cost just £3 for adults and £1.50 for concessions and are available now. Call 01935 847888 or e-mail ticketoffice@ytfc.net for more details.
