Ray Parlour's FA Cup Final strike in 2002, by German Aczel

He may have ‘only’ been Ray Parlour, but the Arsenal midfielder scored a screamer in the 2002 FA Cup Final.

When Parlour picked up the ball from Sylvain Wiltord just inside the Chelsea half and advanced towards goal, something special was about to happen.

Seconds later, the ‘Romford Pele’ had unleashed a curler into the top corner beyond Carlo Cudicini's despairing dive.

The 70th-minute strike from Parlour put the Gunners in front before Freddie Ljungberg sealed a 2-0 win over their London rivals to lift The Cup in Cardiff.
