FA Mars Just Play kickabouts are free for a month

To celebrate the exciting summer of football that we are about to embark upon, The FA and Mars have joined forces to encourage fans across the country to get back involved with the beautiful game - without having to pay a penny.

Now in its third year, the FA Mars Just Play scheme runs sessions across the country and is open to all adults looking to get back into football - and for the next month anyone can register and get involved free of charge.

Between 12 June until 13 July anyone can sign up and take part in one of the 1,400 sessions nationwide - regardless of age, ability or gender.

  • 1,400 kickabouts nationwide
  • Free of charge 12 June-13 July
  • 20,000 places
  • Female-only and walking sessions available

England manager Roy Hodgson is a supporter of The FA Mars Just Play initiative and said it is a fantastic idea and one that provides opportunities to people that may not otherwise have access to the required facilities.

“This is about playing football for fun. Playing football because you love to play and I think there’s lots of people out there who love to play football,” he said.

“So it’s terrific that you can come and play yourself and meet up with like-minded people."

Hodgson's England take on Italy in Manaus on 14 June - two days after the tournament in Brazil opens with the hosts taking on Croatia in Sao Paulo.

The month-long initiative begins on the day the tournament gets under way and to get involved all you need to do is search for your local session, sign up and play.

Everything you need to play will be supplied by The FA – so simply bring your boots, your kit and yourselves – and we will take care of the rest.

The sessions will be run by FA-trained Just Play organisers, and will include a number of activities – making sure everyone is catered for.
