Chris David is hoping for more FA Cup magic in his career on Tuesday night as Fulham aim to reach the Fifth Round Proper.

The young forward made his debut for the Cottagers in their Third Round tie at Norwich City last month and figured again in the 1-1 draw with Sheffield United nine days ago.

And he now wants to play a part in helping Fulham through in the replay against Sheffield United at Craven Cottage.

“It’s up to us to beat them on Tuesday,” said the Dutchman.

“We were expecting a tough game up there as Cup matches are always difficult.

“It was played on a tough pitch in wet conditions, against a team who were probably happy to sit back and defend and wait for their moment to hit us on the break.

“It was difficult for us to play and we could have done better but we tried our best and we got a draw.”

So far, David’s only real taste of first-team football in England has come in The FA Cup.

The 20-year-old arrived in west London from FC Twente last January and admits it was something of a dream for him to feature in the famous old competition.

“Everyone knows The FA Cup,” added David, speaking to the official Fulham FC matchday programme for Tuesday’s game.

“It’s one of the biggest cup tournaments in the world and it was a special day for me making my debut.

“I’d been here a year and I’d worked hard for that moment, so it was a special occasion for me and I hope I get more chances and more minutes for Fulham.

“When I went on the pitch, I felt something in my stomach - it was an amazing feeling.”
