Adrian Bevington has praised everyone involved with the England Women’s team after Mark Sampson’s side booked their place at next year’s World Cup finals.

The Three Lions eased to a 4-0 win over Wales in Cardiff on Thursday night to seal qualification with a game to spare.

England now have ten months to prepare for Canada 2015 – with one of the highlights being a mouthwatering match against Germany at Wembley Stadium on Sunday 23 November.

Club England were central to securing that prestigious fixture, and managing director Bevington applauded the whole set-up for the way they qualified for next summer’s showpiece event.

He said: “I would like to congratulate every member of the England squad on their resounding success in Wales on Thursday night and their subsequent qualification for the 2015 FIFA Women’s World Cup in Canada.

"Mark Sampson and his staff should be congratulated for guiding England there in an exemplary fashion.

"A 100 per cent record in the group so far, 42 goals scored and only one conceded is a truly remarkable run and one everyone associated with the squad should be proud of.

"The progress the team - which includes a number of new players - has made since his appointment in December 2013 has been nothing short of exceptional and the atmosphere of positivity, professionalism and unity that exists within the group is at the heart of this success.”

Bevington continued: "A special word of praise should also be reserved for Brent Hills, who led the team in a caretaker capacity through the opening four qualifying games - and got the ball rolling on this remarkable run.

"The period between now and 6 June when the tournament commences will be one of intense preparation for Mark and his squad – including a prestigious international fixture against Germany at Wembley Stadium on 23 November.

"I wish them all well as they get ready for the tournament next summer. In Mark and his team, they are in the very best of hands.

"I would also like to thank the BBC for the committed coverage they have provided throughout the team’s journey to Canada.

"Their dedication to working with us to grow the women’s game is unwavering and for that we are all grateful.

"We will continue to do everything we can to support the team as we look forward to Canada and beyond."
