See Hull City's 'Route To Wembley' for FA Cup Semi-Final

Hull City's Matt Fryatt celebrates a goal in The FA Cup this season

Hull City are back at Wembley for the first time since 2008 on Sunday afternoon, when they face Sheffield United in the second of this weekend's FA Cup Semi-Finals.

Steve Bruce will be hoping his team can overcome one of his former clubs to join Premier League rivals Arsenal in next month's Final.

And they've certainly had a varied run to this stage of the competition, the first time they've reached The FA Cup Semi-Final since 1930.

They started out with a tricky-looking tie at Middlesbrough in the Third Round Proper in January, but goals from Aaron McClean and Nick Proschwitz secured a 2-0 victory and the club's first win on Teesside since 1986.

The Fourth Round draw threw up an intriguing tie for Hull, as they were sent to face League Two outfit Southend United, now managed by former City boss Phil Brown.

He was in charge the last time the club reached Wembley six years ago, and it looked to be a potential banana skin on the Essex coast

But a second-half brace from Matty Fryatt following a professional performance saw Bruce's side avoid any upset at Roots Hall.

Hull's Jake Livermore in action against Brighton in the Fifth Round

Hull were sent south again in the Fifth Round, with Championship high-fliers Brighton and Hove Albion hosting them on a wet and windy February night in front of the TV cameras at the Amex Stadium.

They had to show their resolve too, coming from behind to draw 1-1 thanks to Yannick Sagbo's late equaliser.

There were no mistakes in the replay at the KC Stadium seven days later as Curtis Davies and Robert Koren scored to set up a 2-1 win over the Seagulls.

Bruce was paired with another of his former clubs in the Sixth Round and finally a home draw, as Sunderland were the visitors to the KC Stadium.

And City clocked up their most convincing Cup victory of the season so far, as Davies, Fryatt and David Meyler scored in a 3-0 win to set up this weekend's trip to Wembley.
