The FA Youth Futsal Festival.

The FA has been focused on growing the awareness and understanding of Futsal across England - and is receiving encouraging results.

The FA National Youth Futsal Festival is designed to provide an inspirational platform for young people to take up and play Futsal on a regular basis.

And the overall goal of encouraging more schools, clubs and young people to play Futsal throughout the year is showing encouraging signs of sustaining itself across the country.

This year the introduction of youth Futsal leagues as pathways for qualification into the National Youth festival aimed at building on more frequent and sustainable Futsal activity at youth level.

Stephen Brown, Small Sided Football Consultant, said: “This year has seen a real sea-change in the focus of the FA National Youth Futsal festival, with an emphasis on creating more sustainable structures for teams and schools to compete on a regular basis.

"The festival has grown over its six years and this year we envisage this to continue with more clubs and schools really embracing the opportunities for player development in Futsal.”

From now until May, there will be 17 leagues and 19 one-day festivals being run across a network of 25 County FAs for both boys and girls aged from U10 through to U16.

The leagues and festivals have been developed through a number of local partnerships between County FAs, leisure providers and Schools Football Associations to ensure more schools and clubs have the opportunity to develop closer links with one another through Futsal.

Once successfully navigating their way through the County Youth Futsal Leagues and Festivals, schools and clubs will then progress onto eight Regional Youth Futsal Festivals Finals with the ultimate aim of making the National Finals in Birmingham in June 2014.

If you would like to become involved then contact your local County FA for further information and you could enjoy being a part of the growing Futsal revolution.
