The FA is proud to announce the return of the prestigious FA Futsal Cup.

This competition was the first Futsal honour to be run by The FA when it was introduced in 2004 and following its absence over the past couple of years, it’s pleasing for the whole English Futsal community to see The FA Futsal Cup return.

To ensure that the FA Futsal Cup adheres to its original aspirations of providing a top quality national competition The FA have revised the format and structure of the competition.

The Cup aims to support the growth of local Futsal competition and participation opportunities, whilst also providing a platform for the top Futsal clubs in the country to test themselves.

This new format will continue to support and accelerate the progression of Futsal within England, particularly in line with The FA National Game Strategy priorities of growing and retaining participation.

The competition is for both male and women adult Futsal teams, split into distinct sections with recreational teams playing in qualifying leagues to win the opportunity to progress into a regional competition.

That stage will see the introduction of those National League clubs not involved in the Super League with winners and runners-up moving onto mini leagues.

The final two stages of the competition has the top two teams from the mini leagues joined by those Super League teams who haven’t qualified for the Grand Finals in a Semi-Final.

The culmination of the competition will see a national finals tournament take place over two days to see who will be crowned FA Futsal Cup champions.

Stephen Brown, The FA’s Small Sided Football Consultant, said: “It is really pleasing to see the return of The FA Futsal Cup and in particular with a new structure.

“I am sure this will create a real buzz and excitement across the whole Futsal community as the format gives a real opportunity for those recreational Futsal teams to test their qualities against a more established national league club.”

Men’s and Women’s Leagues that wish to be considered as a qualifying league for The FA Futsal Cup must register with The FA by Friday 29 November 2013.
