BIO

The FA Crest

Karen Bardsley was part of three World Cup squads, in 2011, 2015 and 2019.

Born in California, Bardsley made her England debut against Northern Ireland in 2005; nobody in the current squad has been involved for longer.

The 36-year-old helped the Lionesses to a runners-up spot at Euro 2009 and put in two player-of-the-match performances - being named in FIFA's post-tournament All-Star team - as England won bronze in Canada in 2015.

Like many of her club mates, Bardsley has won every domestic honour available to her since joining Manchester City in November 2013, and saved two penalties in the Continental League Cup final shoot-out victory over Arsenal in February 2019.
