2012 Games heroes record words of encouragement for the England team
Katherine Grainger and Nicola Adams were among the famous sporting faces of 2012, at hand to pass on some words of encouragement to Hope Powell's England Women's team at the official squad announcement ceremony in central London.
The 23-strong group was unveiled at the British Museum on Monday afternoon.
Before the players were introduced to the media, the inspirational messages from some of Britain's most successful Olympians and Paralympians was screened.
As well as Britain's most decorated female Olympian Katherine Grainger, and GB's first ever female boxing champion Nicola Adams, double Paralympic gold medallists Natasha Baker and Hannah Cockroft also took time out to lend their support to the Lionesses.
