England U20s defender Jamaal Lascelles enjoying Ugo Ehiogu's advice ahead of World Cup
By Nicholas Veevers in Turkey
admits the presence of Ugo Ehiogu in England training has been a big boost for him.
The Nottingham Forest centre-half is in Turkey preparing for the U20 World Cup under Peter Taylor and former international Ehiogu is with the squad as a Coach Observer for the competition.
And he’s been working with the coaches and the squad's defenders and Lascelles is making the most of it.
He told FATV
: “He’s a great coach and he talks and has spent a lot of time with me, telling me how to do this and that.
“I listen to everything he says really.”
The Three Lions have been in Turkey for just under a week now as they get used to the temperatures here ahead of the World Cup's start at the weekend.
And as the only player to feature for 90 minutes in Sunday’s warm-up game with Uruguay
, Lascelles feels ready for action.
He added: “We’re getting used to the weather now, so it’s good timing with the Iraq game on Sunday.
“We’ve been talking about it and doing a lot of that in training, set-pieces, shape and everyone’s doing well.
“It’s a massive game so we’ve just got to take the confidence out of that game with Uruguay and get off to a good start.”
