BIO

The FA Crest

The tall and classy central defender was born and raised in Stockport, where he caught the attention of Manchester United's scouts when playing alongside his twin brother Will and invited along to the Reds' academy.

Initially a right-back, Keane was part of United's successful youth team in 2011 when they won the FA Youth Cup before he stepped up into senior football with loan spells at Leicester City and Blackburn Rovers.

By now, he had been capped by England at U19 level, helping the Young Lions to the U19 Euro semi-final in 2012 in Estonia after previously featuring for the Republic Of Ireland's development teams.

He then moved into the England U21 set up, under the guidance of Gareth Southgate, and was a regular in the squad as they qualified for the 2015 U21 Euro Finals in Czech Republic.

At the same time, he left Old Trafford in search of first-team football with Burnley, where he went on to enjoy three impressive seasons and caught the eye of Southgate again, this time with the senior squad.

A composed debut followed in March 2017, when he played 90 minutes against Germany in Dortmund.
