praised fellow goals scorers Danny Welbeck and Rickie Lambert after their efforts against Scotland helped England to a famous win
Walcott notched his first Three Lions goal at Wembley to level the game up after James Morrison had fired the visitors in front.
Vancouver Whitecaps forward Kenny Miller gave Gordon Strachan's men the advantage early in the second half, but goals from Welbeck and Lambert clinched victory for Roy Hodgson's England.
Welbeck's 53rd-minute header from Steven Gerrard's free-kick squared the game up. It was his sixth England strike in 17 games.
Walcott says the Manchester United forward will be vital in their 2014 World Cup qualification run-in.
"He's always played so well for England and tries so hard. That goal record speaks for itself and shows how important he is.
"He's still very young and we want all players playing at the level they are.
"If Danny can keep on contributing like he's doing for club and country hopefully it's going to be a great qualification for us."
Walcott was also delighted for Southampton striker Rickie Lambert, who marked his England debut with the match-winner.
The 31-year-old, who bagged 15 goals in his first Premier League campaign with the Saints last season, shook off his marker inside the box to power home a perfect header from Leighton Baines's 70th-minute corner.
"He's the nicest guy and has worked so hard from all the levels upwards and deserves this moment without a doubt.
"It was an absolute bullet header. I blinked so I didn't see it go in, but it shows he has that difference that will help us I think. This qualification people won't expect that."
Next up for England is their World Cup Qualifier at Wembley on 6 September. They also have two matches coming up at home in October against group rivals Montenegro and Poland. For ticket details visit www.TheFA.com/Tickets
