Wayne Rooney, Jack Wilshere and Theo Walcott all target return from injuries
England trio Jack Wilshere, Theo Walcott and Wayne Rooney are closing in on a return to action following their recent injuries.
Arsenal pair Wilshere and Walcott missed England’s games in San Marino and Montenegro last month and Rooney hasn’t featured for Manchester United since the game in Podgorica due to a groin injury.
But the 27-year-old could be back in action for the Reds on Monday night as they look to take another step towards the Premier League title with a win against bitter rivals Manchester City.
And Wilshere and Walcott are both being pencilled in for an Arsenal return for their game with Norwich City next weekend following ankle and thigh injuries respectively.
United boss Sir Alex Ferguson revealed: "Wayne started training this morning, which is good news. He should be fine by Monday.”
And speaking to Arsenal.com ahead of their trip to West Brom, Gunners assistant boss Steve Bould revealed: "We have good news with both of them.
“Jack and Theo are now outside running and have an outside chance of being involved against Norwich a week on Saturday."
England’s next fixture is in late May, when Republic Of Ireland are the visitors to Wembley. Tickets for that game are on sale now. For more details, click here now.
