Peter Crouch has vowed that the best is still to come from England at this World Cup now their only afternoon kick-off in the heat of Germany is out of the way.
The Three Lions got off to a flyer with a 1-0 win over Paraguay on Saturday, but the Liverpool striker admitted that playing conditions were tough after a three o'clock start in 30-degree sunshine.
England face Trinidad & Tobago in their next game on Thursday and will kick-off at the slightly cooler time of six o'clock in the evening.
Crouch said: "You didn't see us at our best on Saturday with the way the game went and I'm sure that you'll see a different team during the later kick-offs and not a tired team.
"We can take heart from our first half performance when Paraguay never threatened at all. We felt we were much the better side and that we could go on and score three or four.
"At half-time we were cooling down the best we could, but when we got out for the second half the heat did affect us a bit too much.
"Now the kick-offs are later you'll hopefully see better from us throughout the 90 minutes rather than just the first half."
