Women's FA Cup quarter-final
Birmingham City Ladies v Leeds United Ladies
2pm, Sunday Feb 12

Leeds United Ladies face their biggest game in three years when they meet Birmingham City Ladies in the quarter-finals of the Women's FA Cup on Sunday.

Leeds face another all Women’s Premier League clash for the third time in the Cup after disposing of Everton and Doncaster Rovers Belles in previous rounds.

Julie Chipchase's side haven’t progressed further than the Fifth Round in the last three years, having been knocked out by Arsenal twice recently in the early stages in the cup.

However, Leeds' form has been impressive since Christmas, with just one defeat to Arsenal.

With the final being televised live on BBC1 and with it some much needed winnings money, Leeds will be looking to make sure they don’t slip up.

"It is a massive game for us and one which I am sure Birmingham will want to win as well," said Chipchase.

"We need to play to the same level or better than we did against Everton in the last round. Just because Birmingham are languishing near the bottom of the league doesn’t mean they are not a good team.

"They have some quality International players with big game experience, so we must be properly prepared with the right attitude.

"We have good enough players in our squad and have been playing well enough to do well in this Cup, we must again prove this on Sunday.

Leeds' England international Sue Smith added: "The last few years I have commentated on the FA Cup Final and looked with envy at the players playing out there, I know we are still a long way from there yet but I want to get there with Leeds so much.

"We are under no illusions though and realise Birmingham are a good team who are hard to beat and will want to win as much as us.

"We have to work as a team, as we did in the last round, and make sure it’s Leeds are in the draw the next day and not Birmingham.

Karen Walker, who bagged a hat-trick in the last round, said: "The FA Cup is still very special to me, I was delighted to get my hat-trick in the last round, not for me but for the whole team.

"I would love to do well in the Cup with Leeds, we must only focus on the game on Sunday though and ensure we get through - that’s all that matters for now."
