In a football first, BBC Sport’s coverage of The FA Women's Cup Final between Arsenal and Charlton Athletic on Bank Holiday Monday will be presented by an all-female team.
Loftus Road, home of Queens Park Rangers, is the setting as Arsenal take on London rivals Charlton Athletic in The FA Women’s Cup Final on 3rd May. Charlton will be hoping to complete the "Treble" this season of the League, The FA Cup and the League Cup. Arsenal, on the other hand, will be trying to win their 6th FA Cup Final in 12 years.
BBC Sport’s anchor Celina Hinchcliffe
will host the exclusive, live event on BBC (BBC ONE, coverage 12.45pm, kick-off 1.00pm).
Celina will be joined in the studio by current England Internationals Sue Smith and Rachel Brown. Sue Smith is widely recognised as one of England’s hottest footballing talents. Currently playing for Leeds United ladies, Sue has won 39 England caps and scored 11 international goals. Rachel Brown is not only an England international and first- choice goalkeeper for her club side Everton - but in 1996, at just 15 years of age, she played for Liverpool in The FA Women’s Cup Final.
BBC Sport’s Rebecca Lowe will be the match reporter and England National Team coach Hope Powell will be co- commentator alongside BBC Sport’s Steve Wilson.
The match will also be covered on BBC Radio Five Live. Mike Sewell will present exclusive coverage from Loftus Road live from 12.30 to 15.00.
Five Live’s Commentators Conor McNamara and Ian Dennis will be joined by expert match summariser Gavin Peacock, the former Newcastle, Chelsea and QPR player.
