Amy Kane and her Everton teammates begin their defence at home to Birmingham City
Holders start at home
Monday, 07 July 2008.
Reigning FA Tesco Women's Premier League Cup holders Everton Ladies will begin their defence with an all National Division tie at home to Birmingham City after the draw was made today.
Memories of previous cup battles will be revived at Borehamwood FC where Arsenal, last season's runners-up will host Charlton Athletic, whilst Chelsea, who signed Lianne Sanderson and Anita Asante last week, will take on either newly promoted Reading FC Women or Barnet.
Fulham, who in their previous guise had a strong cup final pedigree travel to a team they swapped places with at the end of the season [Cardiff City], and the other newly promoted National Division side Nottingham Forest will play Liverpool in another all-top flight game.
Keith Boanas who recently returned to club management with Millwall Lionesses will be hoping to inspire his new charges to a good cup run, starting at home to Ipswich Town.
Leeds United will be again looking for a strong display in the cups and begin at home to Manchester City and Doncaster Rovers Belles - whose players have already won one small sided tournament this summer - are away to Tranmere Rovers from the Northern Division.
