Arsenal and Liverpool have booked their places in the Second Round of The FA Tesco Women's Premier League Cup, with last season's Finalists Leeds United falling at the first hurdle.

Cheryl Foster and Kelly Jones scored the decisive goals for the Reds, who overcame a determined and youthful Leeds team that performed strongly in the League last season and added a number of young players in the pre-season.

Liverpool now face the long journey to Colchester United in the Second Round, while holders Arsenal also must travel in the Second Round after they overcame Cardiff to set up an intriguing tie with Newquay.

England quartet Karen Carney, Katie Chapman, Rachel Yankey and Lianne Sanderson were all on the scoresheet for Vic Akers' side as they negotiated the tricky visit to Cardiff with ease.
