FA WOMEN'S PREMIER LEAGUE CUP
Jody celebrates after notching another goal this season
Handley's old pals wish

Everton’s England striker Jody Handley is hoping to meet her former club Doncaster Rovers Belles in the FA Nationwide Women’s Premier League Cup final – but both Donny and the Toffees will be underdogs in Sunday’s semi-finals.
Charlton Athletic, runners-up to Arsenal in last season’s Premier League Cup but Everton’s conquerors in the FA Cup final, visit Doncaster having already beaten the Belles at home in the League.
Handley will meanwhile be aiming to add to her recent goal record against Arsenal, with whom Everton have drawn their last two League games as well as beating them 3-0 in March’s FA Cup semi-final.
Having scored in all three of those fixtures, the 26 year-old striker is eagerly awaiting another chance to find the Gunners net as the Toffees prepare to entertain the League Cup holders and reigning League champions.
“I don’t think Arsenal like coming to our ground,” said Handley. “We always seem to get goals against them. It’s been great to put my own name on the scoresheet the last few times we’ve played them, but more importantly we’ve got the results.
“Beating them in the FA Cup semi-final last season was fantastic, and either side of that game we’ve got good draws against them in the League. We had to come from behind twice in the 3-3 draw a few weeks ago, but that showed our resilience.
“Sunday’s Cup tie will be just as tough and we know we’ll have to be on our game to beat them. But we’ve shown we can match them, and after losing the FA Cup final to Charlton it would be great to give ourselves another chance of winning a trophy.”
Handley’s current and former clubs have similar histories in the League Cup – both Everton and Donny have twice been runners-up but neither have won the competition, making it the only major trophy that either club has failed to win.
And that, says the England international, would add to the occasion if indeed she was to find herself lining up against the Belles in March’s final. It would certainly be a special day for resurgent Donny, who narrowly escaped relegation last season.
“No disrespect to Charlton,” said Handley, “but I would love it to be us and Donny in the final. After the problems they had last season they’ve bounced back really well and they are a massively improved team.
“I’m delighted for them and I feel they’ll give Charlton a good game on Sunday. Hopefully it will be them and us who get to the final – but that’s as far as my best wishes to Donny would go for this competition!”
There are also five rearranged FA Women's Cup matches on Sunday.
Preston North End play Stockport County, Nottingham Forest meet Leicester City and Aston Villa play Wolves.
Further south, Watford host QPR and Bristol City meet Reading Royals.
