The FA Women's Premier League Cup
Third Round
Sunday 06 November 2005

Charlton Athletic 1-0 Bristol Academy

A superb last minute goal from England striker Eniola Aluko clinched a semi-final place for the Addicks in a match played in driving wind and rain.

The treacherous travelling conditions were so severe that Amanda Barr and Georgie Adams were left marooned on the M1, thereby missing the match completely.

Bristol 'keeper Siobhan Chamberlain brilliantly tipped an Eniola Aluko shot over the bar and Charlton suffered a blow after just 19 minutes when skipper Katie Chapman limped off following a late tackle.

A Stef Curtis corner flashed across the face of the Addicks' goal and Katie Holtham clipped Pauline Cope's far post.

Sarah Snare volleyed inches wide of the visitors' goal and Chamberlain saved with her feet from Aluko's first time effort.

Josanne Potter brought another superb save from Chamberlain and sent the rebound crashing off the crossbar before her third effort went over the goal.

Then, with the game in injury time, Danielle Murphy played a superb ball through for Aluko to outpace her marker and slide the ball past the onrushing keeper.

Doncaster Rovers Belles 3-2 Tranmere Rovers

Doncaster Rovers Belles soon took control against Tranmere Rovers, with goals from Michelle Walsh and Carla Cantrell inside 20 minutes.

Julie Twaddle eventually extended their lead but the visitors quickly responded with a Vicky Abbott penalty.

Kelly Jones scored 16 minutes from time to make it a nervous finish for the hosts.

Arsenal 5-0 Bristol City

Arsenal went ahead against Bristol City through Jayne Ludlow just before half-time.

Kelly Smith netted a penalty before the hour mark, Lianne Sanderson on target ten minutes later.

Anita Asante soon hit number four, with Ciara Grant wrapping it up at 5-0 on 88 minutes.
