As Arsenal and England captain Faye White prepares for Sunday's FA Nationwide Premier League Cup Final, her team's first trophy of the season is in sight.

But with Charlton also chasing the same domestic trophy collection, the 27-year-old admits that the outcome could play a huge part in the remainder of the season.

"We've played each other a lot of times over the last few seasons, two of the biggest teams in the women's game, so hopefully it'll be a good game and one in which we'll win our first piece of silverware.

"Both teams are going for the domestic treble, and we've also got the UEFA Cup, so we know it's a hectic time. But this is the first game of what could be vital matches, if we can get the result it will help with the confidence within the team to help us go on to do well in the other games."

White is also aware that the Gunners are yet to beat Charlton this season, but says that her team have the quality to win at Brentford highlighting the middle of the park as where the game will be won and lost.

"They'll be confident, they did play well against us when we played them at home, we drew 2-2, and they got one over on us in the Community Shield, but there's a lot that has gone on in the season. We're in a great position to do well, so this game is going to be massive," said White.

"We've got a very strong midfield, good in the air, with Jayne Ludlow and Ciara Grant. But they've got an England international, Katie Chapman, who is getting back to her best and doing very well for Charlton."

She added: "So in midfield, we know that's an area that we have to be control, like it is in most games, but more so against players in their team."

When the dust has settled after Sunday's battle, Faye will meet up with a number of her Charlton opponents as England prepare for for the Algarve Cup next week. The focus will change and rivals will become team mates.

"The whole England squad gets on well and that's important at international level.  Players can put aside the differences at club level and focus on the same cause.

"It will be interesting after Sunday with some players being very elated, wishing they could celebrate with their team and others who'll just want to go and sit in their room on their own and forget about what's just happened.

"But you've got to pick yourselves up because we'll be flying out to Italy the next day."
