Everton v Bristol Academy
The FA Tesco Women's Premier League

Bristol Academy will head to Everton on Sunday aiming for a victory that can leapfrog them back over the Toffees into second place in the FA Tesco Women’s Premier League’s National Division table.
Everton moved two points clear of Bristol with a 5-1 midweek defeat of local rivals Liverpool, and with four games in hand on Academy the Merseysiders will be expected to end the season in one of the top two places alongside current leaders Arsenal.
But Academy have been in the top three all season and are determined to stay there according to captain Michelle Green as she and her team mates look to make up for lost time in what will be only their third game in as many months.
"We’re obviously short of match practise," said the 25 year-old Welsh international Green. "But we’ve been keeping ourselves fit with some tough training sessions and we’ll really be up for it on Sunday."
Green returned to action, following a hip injury, when Academy went down 3-1 at home to Everton in February. But they then beat Watford 2-0 and, after a six-week break from action, they are now set for a spell of five games in four weeks to end their fixtures.
"It’s going to be a bit hectic compared to the last couple of months," says Green. "But we’d rather be playing on a regular basis and so we’re looking forward to these last few games even though we’ve got some tough ones.
"We’ve got to play the likes of Arsenal and Leeds so it isn’t going to be easy, but if we can start with a good result at Everton that will stand us in good stead. They deserved to beat us at our place, but I think we’re good enough to get something at theirs.
"If we can do that then I believe we can go on to finish in the top three. That’s our aim and if we achieve it we can put this season down as a very good one for the club and something solid to build on next season."
If Academy should get three points on Sunday it would not only help their own cause but that of Arsenal, who could stretch their already big lead at the top even further when they entertain Leeds United in a dress rehearsal for next month’s FA Cup final.
Elsewhere there’s a mid-table clash between Watford and Liverpool while, at the bottom end of the table, Cardiff City will be relegated if they lose to Chelsea and Birmingham City beat already doomed Charlton Athletic.
