Arsenal earned their 50th consecutive win in The FA Women's Premier League, as they comfortably beat Birmingham City at home to give them a commanding lead at the top of the table.

Jayne Ludlow openedthe scoring after just ten minutes, rising highest at the back post to head home from a Rachel Yankey corner.

Though Arsenal maintained possession confidently throughout the remainder of the half and into the second period, Birmingham were always in the game at just a goal down.

That chance evaporated with eight minutes remaining as the prolific Lianne Sanderson scored with a fine turn and powerful strike. Moments later Sanderson got her second to put a more comfortable seal on the win and add another to her tally for the season.
