Arsenal are the beneficiaries of Katie Chapman's tireless energy after her transfer from Charlton Athletic
Wednesday, 19 July 2006.
Arsenal Ladies are delighted to announce their second major summer signing of Katie Chapman from Charlton Athletic.
Having been instrumental in Charlton’s challenges for silverware over the last two seasons, Katie has moved to the other side of London with thoughts of European action firmly in her sights.

Katie started playing football at the age of 10 with Millwall Lionesses and made her first team debut at 14 before moving onto Fulham to play professionally for 3 years, where she won the treble in 2002.
At 16 years of age she made her debut for England U18s, captaining the side, and then quickly earned her first England senior cap at just 17. She now has 48 caps to her name and has been involved in England’s Euro 2001, 2005 and World Cup qualifying campaigns.
Katie is a very strong, committed player who is very dominant in the air and will never give less than 100 per cent in a challenge and will be a great addition to an already very strong Arsenal midfield.
Katie took a break from playing football in the 2002-03 season while she was pregnant with her son Harvey.
She made a victorious comeback in August 2003 as Fulham won The FA Women’s Community Shield and could make her Arsenal competitive bow in this season's curtain-raiser on 2 August at Crewe Alexandra FC.
The signing of Chapman comes just days after The Gunners captured Karen Carney from Birmingham.
