Anita earns Award boost

England and Arsenal midfielder Anita Asante will be looking to make it a celebration hat-trick this weekend, after news that she has won the Nationwide Women's Player of the Month Award for February, in the same week that she helped The Gunners reach The FA Women's Cup Final.
Anita will be hoping to earn her tenth cap when England take on France in a crucial Women's World Cup qualifier at Ewood Park on Sunday.
Her run of good form was recognised by a selection panel, which includes England coach Hope Powell, who have selected Anita for the Player of rhe Month Award following a series of outstanding performances for club and country.
Nationwide's Chris Hull said: "Anita's performances have helped her club to top the Nationwide Premier League and progress to the F.A. Cup Final.
"Despite only recently coming back from a serious knee injury, Anita has been in splendid form this season."
Vic Akers, the Arsenal Manager, said: "Anita has had an excellent season and is one of the outstanding players in the team.
"She's gone from strength to strength and has now made her first full international appearance - she was possibly the player of the match against Iceland.
"She's only 21 and will one day become the captain of our club."
