Portsmouth continue to be their nearest challengers after securing a 5-3 away win at Millwall.

Angie Tinson fired home a late goal to seal a 2-1 victory for Bristol City Women over AFC Wimbledon. Toni Hemmings had given City the lead midway through the first half but Rachael Axon levelled minutes later.

Charlotte King then missed a penalty, which looked to have cost City until Tinson popped up seven minutes from time to steer home a winner.

Cardiff City Ladies swept aside a hard working Southampton Saints to win their fourth league game in a row. The win maintains Cardiff’s third place in the Southern Division.

The first half finished scoreless but in the second period, Cardiff were a lot more purposeful. Fern Burrage got on the scoresheet for her first goal of the season, before Loren Dykes added the second. The win was wrapped up when a Caroline Cooper corner was directed past her own keeper by Amy Boucher for an own goal.

A Vicki Lewis blockbuster of a goal in the closing minutes of the game gave West Ham all three points against Reading Royals, whilst Crystal Palace defeated Langford 2-1.

In the Northern Division, the top-of-the-table clash between Liverpool and Blackburn Rovers fell victim to heavy rain. Nottingham Forest cemented their third place postion
after three successive defeats. Natalie Clarke scored the winner.

Tranmere Rovers are in fourth after a 2-0 away win at Middlesbrough, whilst Manchester City and Lincoln City shared a 1-1 draw.

Wolves beat Curzon Ashton 1-0 thanks to a header from skipper Kerrie Manley, whilst a Michaela Newton double helped Newcastle United to a 4-1 home win over Aston Villa.

The results leave Middlesbrough and Curzon Ashton firmly rooted at the bottom of the table.
