The number of clubs involved in the Premier League is set to increase by two from next season, following play-off matches at the end of the current campaign.
As stated in The FA Women's Premier League Handbook, the system for promotion and relegation will differ from the usual format at the end of this season.
The winners of both the Northern and Southern Divisions will be promoted to the National Division.
Two play-off matches will take place between the two bottom placed teams in the National Division and the runners-up in the Northern and Southern Divisions.
A draw will be made to determine which National Division team will play the Northern Division team and which will play the Southern team.
The winners of these play-off matches will play in the National Division the following season.
The bottom two teams in the Northern and Southern Divisions shall be relegated and will be replaced by the teams nominated by the four Combination Leagues.
