The Cottagers narrowly defeated arch rivals Arsenal on penalties and Chapman knows that the coming campaign is going to prove much tougher for the professional outfit.

"Unlike last season when it was 'Oh, no, not another one of those [easy] games', every game this season is going to be a great game."

If last night's encounter is anything to go by, a blend of passion, commitment and no little skill, then title favourites Fulham will have to fight all the way to snatch Arsenal's crown.

"Arsenal are a great side, they've won several things and we expected them to come out and be physical. I mean, if they didn't, it wouldn't have been much of a game."

But despite being outplayed at times last night by the fired up Gunners, Chapman remains confident that her side can repeat last season's success. When asked if Fulham can win every game, Chapman responded:

"We're hoping to. We'll go out there and play like we want to win every game and hopefully it will come off for us. That's the aim but we will see what happens."

The Fulham skipper was also not unduly worried about her team's performance and was quick to point out that Fulham had won the first silverware of the season.

"We went out there and we won it. It was the first time that we've been in it [the Community Shield] and we've won it now."

At the end of the day it is silverware that matters and it was Chapman who held aloft the first trophy of the new season - and don't count on it being the last.
